Knitted, not just designed

From the sea floor to her skin.

The design language is European. So is what it's made of. This is where the fabric comes from — and why we chose it.

Why fabric comes first

When we asked her what the market had gotten wrong, comfort and fit came before anything else — including colour, including price. A premium legging lives or dies by its stretch, its recovery and its hand. So the fabric had to meet the design, not define it.

Fabric can be sourced by anyone with a purchase order. So we went to the source.

i.

Reclaimed.

It begins as waste: end-of-life fishing nets from aquaculture and the fishing industry, ghost nets recovered from open water, and other nylon scrap that would otherwise be buried or burned.

ii.

Regenerated.

The ECONYL® process breaks that nylon down with steam, heat and a catalyst — back to its original monomer, caprolactam, purified by distillation. What comes out is nylon with the same quality as new, and it can be regenerated again and again.

Knitted in Italy.

The yarn is knitted with elastane in a Bergamo mill that has specialised in stretch fabric since 1962.

Three fabrics

Each one was chosen for how it feels on her and how it holds up through her day — from a studio into everything after it. The main and compression knits are made from ECONYL regenerated nylon; the micro-mesh is a bi-elastic polyamide, described plainly below.

Matte black knit in a soft fold
Fluent drape

The main knit

Ultra-thin and soft, with excellent coverage.

A bi-elastic knit at 190 g/m² that moves in every direction and holds its shape. Deep matte black with excellent coverage — nothing shows through. Ultra-thin and soft to the hand, with muscle containment, and it shrugs off pilling, chlorine, sun cream and oils.

Compression & recovery

The compression knit

It holds her — and lets go without losing its shape.

A denser knit at 225 g/m² with muscle containment and exceptional recovery: stretch it, release it, it springs back, slowing the build of lactic acid. Compact and breathable, soft to the hand, with full coverage and UPF 50+.

The micro-mesh

The mesh is the construction, not a trim.

A bi-elastic micro-mesh, ultra-light and breathable, that follows every movement. It forms the structured side panels in Nicole — function becoming form.

Recovery

Pull it. Let go.

Stretch opens the knit; recovery closes it again. That is what keeps a legging looking considered at six in the evening, not just at seven in the morning.

Why we chose the best

Every fabric choice answers something she told us in the design interviews that became Nueve.

And the bag

The Sporty Bag is organic cotton canvas.

The same standard of intention applied to what the collection is made of, not only how it is cut.
